Upper Coquet (or that's some bad hat, Harry!)

[Upper Coquet put in - glen]
It's a cold and desolate place; bleak, desparing and untouched by the warmth of human presence. Well, enough about Glen's wardrobe... sometime in early January we managed a sortie down the Upper Coquet after several days worth of rain. With just enough to run without too much of a scrape this little favourite tucked away in the mist of Northumberland has the odd surprise to throw at the unwary and a nice technical finish with the 'S' bend rapids and Corkscrew Falls. Check it out in the guidebooks and if it's been raining hard, really hard, go there - oh, and take a set of splits, just in case...

[Corkscrew Falls, just behind me big head!]
